- Important - Please Note: Passengers will only beentitled to transfers to and from London Airports providing thefollowing conditions are met:
- For included transfers: Your flights must be booked directly byTrafalgar no fewer than 21 days prior to departure. For chargeabletransfers: Your Travel Agent provides detailed flight informationto Trafalgar no fewer than 21 days prior to departure. Oncetransfers are booked they cannot be changed.
- For London arrivals, you must stay at a London hotel booked byTrafalgar on the night of arrival and the night prior to yourdeparture date.
- Trafalgar only includes one inbound and one outbound transfer.

TheGatwick Express train journey from Gatwick Airport to London''sVictoria Station takes 30 minutes. Guests then need to make theirway from Victoria Station to their Trafalgar hotel.
- European Gateways: With Trafalgar all passengerswill receive complimentary arrival and departure transfers on thescheduled arrival and departure day of their tour at the timesspecified below. Please ensure your Travel Agent reserves yourflight to co-ordinate with the transfer times shown.
- Trafalgar Bonus - Passengers who book Trafalgar''s Land+Air packageand who arrive or depart outside of these specified times on thescheduled arrival and departure day of the tour will also beprovided with a transfer.

Free airport transfers: Transfers on Day 2 at Madrid Airport will operate at 09.30,12.30, 15.00 and 17.30. Passengers arriving later should make their own way to the first hotel. Return transfers on the last touring day will arrive at Lisbon Airport at 07.00 and 09.30. For passengers who wish to be transferred to Madrid, we will transfer you to the Trafalgar extra night hotel in Madrid with arrival around 6pm.

Day 1 - Depart USA
Overnight flight to Madrid.
Day 2 - Arrive Madrid (2 nights)
Welcome to Madrid, the Spanish capital city! Time to relax orexplore this livelySpanish capital. Later enjoy a Welcome Drink with your TourDirector and fellowtravelers.Hotel: Rafael Atocha
Day 3 - Madrid sightseeing & at leisure
This morning our guided sightseeing tour introduces us to Madridwhich King Philip II made the capital of the empire in 1561. Wedrive along the leafy avenues to see the statue of Cervantes''fictional hero, Don Quixote, in the Plaza de España. Then wecontinue past the Cibeles Fountain and the Parliament, and crossthe Puerta del Sol. Finally we see the Royal Palace, the largestroyal palace in Western Europe with more than 2,800 rooms, whichwas the official residence of King Juan Carlos and the RoyalFamily, and is now used only for state occasions. The Royal Familychoose to live in the smaller Palacio de la Zarzuela on theoutskirts of the city. Then we have time at leisure to relax orperhaps take an excursion to see the Valley of the Fallen whichcommemorates all those who died on both sides during the SpanishCivil War (1936-1939), and General Franco is buried inside theimpressive basilica.
Day 4 - Madrid - Toledo - Granada
We travel south to Toledo, former capital of Spain but now thecapital of the region of Castile. On our arrival a guided walkingtour highlights the Jewish Synagogue, which is one of the oldest inEurope, and the church of Santo Tome which houses one of themasterpieces of El Greco. Then we travel through the wine producingcentre of Valdepeñas, before crossing through La Mancha whereDon Quixote tilted at windmills as his faithful servant, SanchoPanza, looked on. Later we arrive in hilltopGranada with wonderful views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.This evening we have dinner included in our hotel. (Buffetbreakfast / Dinner)Hotel: Gran Luna
Day 5 - Granada - Costa del Sol (Marbella)
Our morning guided sightseeing tour visits the Alhambra Palace,Spain''s most magnificent example of Moorish architecture and theformer residence of the Moorish monarchs of Granada. The name means''the red fortress'' and the palace and fortress complex occupies ahilly terrace on the southeastern border of the city. We also seethe exotic water gardens of Generalife, the royal summer residence,where you can enjoy fine views over the town and the hills beyond.Then we depart for the coast and the Costa del Sol, on of the mostpopular resort areas of Europe, where tonight you may wish tosample the nightlife of this lively area. Day 6 - Costa del Sol (Marbella) - Gibraltar - Seville (2 nights)
Today we drive along the Costa del Sol to La Linea where we crossto the Rock of Gibraltar, the British overseas territory locatednear the southernmost tip of the Iberian peninsula and overlookingthe Straits of Gibraltar. The territory of Gibraltar was ceded bySpain to Great Britain in perpetuity in 1713 under the Treaty ofUtrecht. There is time to do some duty-free shopping before wetravel through the sherry wine region of Jerez to Seville. (Buffetbreakfast / Dinner) Hotel: Zenit
Day 7 - Seville sightseeing & at leisure
Seville is the artistic, cultural and financial capital of southernSpain and the capital of Andalusia. The city is situated on theRiver Guadalquivir and our morning sightseeing with the local guideis dominated by the cathedral with its Bell Tower, where we willsee the tomb of Christopher Columbus. We will also see the poolsand fountains of Maria Luisa Park and enjoy a walking tour of theJewish quarter. Tonight we enjoy a typical Andalusian dinner oflocal specialties in an authentic hacienda. Day 8 - Seville - Lisbon (2 nights)
Our journey today takes us via the ''Jabugo'' (ham centre) of Spainand past mighty castles. Later we enter the Alentejo region ofPortugal which is commonly known as the bread basket of Portugal, aregion of vast open countryside with undulating plains and richfertile soil. All the major towns are mainly reliant on agricultureand there are several types of cheeses, wines and smoked hams andsausages which are produced in this region, as well as thecultivation of cork forests. Later we reach the capital, Lisbon,where we stay for the next two nights. You may wish to dine out onlocal specialties and listen to the haunting sound of Fado musictonight? Day 9 - Lisbon sightseeing & at leisure
Our guided tour shows us the Monument to the Discoveries which wasinaugurated in 1960 during the celebrations of the 500-yearanniversary of the death of Henry the Navigator. It commemoratesthe maritime expansion of Portugal as well as many heroes ofPortuguese history including Vasco da Gama and Pedro ÁlvaresCabral, the discoverer of Brazil. Then we see the beautifulsuspension bridge across the Tagus, which looks like the GoldenGate Bridge, and finally the Belem Tower which was built in theearly 16th century to commemorate Vasco da Gama''s expedition. Thisdefensive yet elegant construction has become one of the symbols ofthe city, a memorial to thePortuguese power during the age of the great discoveries. In1983 it was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Then timeat leisure perhaps to shop for pottery, cork and fisherman''ssweaters in the nearby fishing villages of Cascais and Sintra.Tonight we enjoy a Farewell Dinner with our Tour Director andfellow travelers. Day 10 - Lisbon - USA
This morning after breakfast it is time to bid farewell to our TourDirector as our tour comes to an end or you can join the Highlightsof France and Spain, see below. Airport transfers are available,conditions apply. (Buffet breakfast)
